Lab Notes on Hadoop Clusters: In early 2009 I endeavored to assemble a Linux cluster computer using the Apache Hadoop cluster computer framework. The project called for a robust, portable, four-node cluster, 3G mobile broadband, capable of being fit into a single piece of aircraft carry-on luggage. But because there was no application for the prototype and the 3G data plan would be prohibitively expensive the prototype was quickly dismantled and the components re-appropriated to better use. I have not come across any pictures of it yet, however, some were taken.
